Not on the Way

Day 3 - Injune to Injune
The Motorhome would not start after stopping at the dump point at Caltex garage in Injune this morning. A friendly mine worker diagnosed that something was shorting out the battery and had in fact melted the battery terminal, rendering the vehicle undriveable. A call to Roadside Assist said a tilt tray had to come from Roma (100 km away) and take it back to Roma, but as it is Good Friday they couldn’t come til Saturday. Our kind campsite park caretakers towed us back to the campsite. RACQ arrived early on Saturday and replaced the battery, but diagnosed the starter motor was the cause of the fault and needed replacing. Not possible until Tuesday, but as the part coming from Brisbane, not being repaired until Wednesday.
So - no visit to Carnarvon Gorge, but we hope to still make Winton and Longreach.
We have been so well looked after by the amazing people in Injune, so we are safe, although a little disappointed in having to change our plans.
